Mike Quoc Vu is a dedicated and goal-driven healthcare professional currently pursuing a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, with an expected graduation date of August 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Arlington, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.85 GPA, and an Associate of Arts in Biology and Government from Austin Community College, where he graduated with honors. Mike brings a diverse background of clinical and military experience to his healthcare journey, combining strong leadership, discipline, and patient-centered care.
His clinical experience includes serving as a Multiskilled Technician and Patient Safety Assistant at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where he assisted nursing staff with direct patient care, monitored vital signs, performed EKGs, and ensured patient safety in both general and high-risk settings. He also worked as a Physician’s Scribe at Baylor Scott & White All Saints, collaborating closely with physicians to document patient encounters, manage electronic medical records, and support efficient patient flow in the emergency department, completing over 700 hours of clinical experience. Before entering healthcare, Mike served honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 2010 to 2020, rising to the rank of Platoon Sergeant. During his service, he trained and led Marines in engineering operations, physical fitness, and close combat instruction as a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor.
His military career included deployment to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom, where he participated in combat and humanitarian missions, as well as disaster relief operations in Japan. Mike’s leadership and service earned him multiple commendations, including a Certificate of Accommodation for rescue operations, Marine of the Quarter honors, and an Honorable Discharge.
Outside of his academic and clinical pursuits, Mike has been actively involved in volunteer and community initiatives such as Meals on Wheels, Toys for Tots, and the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic in Austin, where he served as a Spanish translator for underserved populations. His extracurricular activities include competitive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, powerlifting, and mixed martial arts, where he has competed nationally. With a strong foundation in healthcare, military discipline, and community service, Mike is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality medical care to diverse patient populations and is committed to serving his community with integrity, empathy, and professionalism.
